Cleveland Clinic's Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Resident to join our GI/Renal Unit. As a member of our team, you will work alongside experienced caregivers to provide high-quality patient care and develop your nursing skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients with renal diseases, respiratory diseases, cardiac diseases, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.
- Participate in a residency core curriculum to develop your nursing skills and knowledge.
- Establish and revise priorities for patient care based on individual learning needs and resource availability.
- Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent risk.
- Document patient care in medical records.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
The GI/Renal Unit at Hillcrest Hospital is a 5-bed unit that provides care and treatment to acutely ill adult and geriatric patients. The unit specializes in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, as well as cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, nutritional support, diagnostic testing, and spiritual support.
Physical Requirements- Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
