Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer

Job Summary:

D&K Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and test control systems, including those for shipboard and maritime equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems for industrial applications
  • Develop software for industrial controllers and human-machine interfaces (HMIs)
  • Interface with clients to gather and document system and component requirements
  • Collaborate with other engineers and suppliers to ensure control systems meet project requirements
  • Perform commissioning and testing, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems
  • Create and maintain control systems documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in machinery control software design, software testing, analysis, and technical documentation updates
  • 4 years' specific experience in developing Ladder Logic software for multi-axis control systems
  • U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing field service support of shipboard equipment
  • Experience with the design and deployment of EtherNet/IP Device Level Ring (DLR) and/or Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) networks
  • Experience with the programming, tuning, and optimization of Rockwell Automation PowerFlex 700S, 700L, and 750 series variable frequency drives
  • Familiarity with safety circuit design, equipment electrical distribution, and circuit protection design
  • Software development experience with languages such as C++, C#, Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW
