Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for MRI examinations, explaining procedures in a clear and concise manner to alleviate anxiety.
  • Position patients on the examination table for optimal testing procedures and conditions.
  • Set up equipment to administer the proper procedure in a timely fashion.
  • Perform MRI procedures as prescribed by ordering physicians, obtaining images of anatomical areas of interest at appropriate slice thickness and pulse sequence.
  • Ensure proper views and images have been obtained and proper techniques have been employed, determining the need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions.
  • Collect all pertinent data and calculations for physician interpretation.
  • Monitor patient condition by directly observing patients during examinations, recognizing and reporting abnormal changes.
  • Acknowledge and review images in the computer system, ensuring accuracy of all patient data.
  • Process imaging and print CDs, as required.
  • Perform minor repairs and frequent calibration checks and adjust MRI equipment, as required.
  • Adhere to Infection Control guidelines in the performance of duties and maintain cleanliness of work area, equipment, and accessories.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Prior MRI experience is preferred.
