As a Commercial Management Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Commercial Manager, Commercial Manager, or Project Manager in completing tasks and achieving project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly reports as required
  • Support document production and transmission
  • Collaborate in drafting contracts
  • Contribute to data analysis and tracking
  • Participate in project startup, execution, and close-out documentation development, storage, and communication
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
  • Up to 10% travel may be required depending on project needs

Risk Management
  • Circulate risk register for updates
  • Participate in monthly project reviews
Document Control

Dispute Resolution
  • Assist with monitoring claims issues
  • Review supporting documents for impacts on firm-fixed fee consultants or subcontractor infractions
Project Accounting
  • Support internal and external invoicing
  • Review reimbursable expenses
Scheduling
  • Coordinate with project controls manager on schedule
  • Attend schedule report-outs and assist with identification of design team risk
  • Assist with schedule adjustments for change orders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design-build experience
  • Contractor experience a plus
  • Ability to do low-code programming (e.g., QuickBase)
  • Experience in claims, including claims defense, claim production, claim negotiation/resolution, and claim prevention
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of negotiating contracts for architecture/engineering projects
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in architecture/engineering, design-build, P3, project management, or project controls environment
  • Entry-level positions possible with a bachelor's degree in architecture, business, law, or equivalent
  • Ability to work well in a high-performing team structure in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter; good communication and people skills
  • Commitment to quality and improvement and promoting HDR's values
