Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

The University of Wyoming is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide exceptional psychiatric and mental health services to students.
Job Purpose:Our ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing health and illness states, developing treatment plans, and prescribing psychotropic medications as needed. You will also coordinate referrals and access to primary and other healthcare services, provide consultation to other healthcare clinicians, and maintain accurate patient records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans based on biopsychosocial theories and evidence-based standards of care.
- Prescribe psychotropic medications and related treatments to manage symptoms of psychiatric disorders.
- Coordinate referrals and access to primary and other healthcare services for patients.
- Provide consultation to other healthcare clinicians to enhance quality and cost-effective services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Participate in medical staff meetings and roundtable presentations to maintain AAAHC accreditation standards.
- Provide guidance to SHS support staff and participate in guest lectures as needed.

This position requires the successful candidate to be available to work on campus, providing vital support to campus customers.
Minimum Qualifications:- Master's degree in Nursing.
- 1-3 years of nursing experience preferred.
- National certification in degree specialty (AANP or ANCC).
- RN with APRN Recognition.
- State of Wyoming Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner License.
- DEA Registration.
- WY Controlled Substance Reg.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Compliance with federal regulations regarding vaccination requirements.
