Structures Build Engineer Falcon 9: Spacecraft Assembly Expert

SpaceX, a pioneering leader in space technology, seeks an experienced Structures Build Engineer to join our dynamic team. With the goal of establishing a human settlement on Mars, we require innovative professionals who can drive design and development processes for our launch vehicles.
Job Summary:
- This role will oversee the production, assembly, and integration of Falcon structural assemblies, ensuring seamless transitions from development to high-flow-rate production.
- You will lead the implementation of process improvements to reduce assembly hours and build costs, while executing design for manufacturability changes to enhance production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop production procedures/processes, managing the transition of parts and assemblies from development to high-flow-rate production.
- Lead the execution of design for manufacturability changes to enhance production efficiency.
- Create and maintain build schedules that list all discrete fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Analyze manufacturing discrepancies, resolving issues for design, fabrication, and assembly in collaboration with the quality team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or welding engineering.
- 2 years of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or testing experience (internship experience can supplement for the required industry experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science in degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or welding engineering.
- Experience with spacecraft or aircraft structural assemblies.
- Process development, facility and line layouts, PFMEA, Error-Proofing.
- Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing techniques, processes, equipment, and other processes such as: machining, welding, drilling, sheet metal forming, and stamping.
Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
