Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Care Specialist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in providing advanced-level respiratory care to patients. This position requires the ability to diagnose, evaluate, treat, manage, and control deficiencies or abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system within the prescription of the ordering physician.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Respiratory Care Delivery: Provide advanced-level respiratory care to patients, including diagnostic testing procedures, medication administration, and patient education.
  2. Patient Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
  3. Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain various types of respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
  4. Clinical Decision Making: Use critical thinking skills to make informed decisions about patient care, taking into account complex medical information and multiple variables.
Requirements:
  1. Education and Certification: Graduate of a NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program required; registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT); current license as Registered Respiratory Therapy in the state of practice required.
  2. Skill Set: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; proficiency in operating and maintaining respiratory equipment.
  3. Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, and lifting of patients and equipment; ability to work in a variety of environments, including clinical and non-clinical settings.

The estimated salary for this position is $40,417 - $61,177 per year, based on experience and location.
