Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse RN works collaboratively with the Clinic team to provide comprehensive care and services to patients with blood disorders. This role involves performing general nursing assessments, care, and education in accordance with clinic protocols and regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general nursing assessments, care, and education in accordance with clinic protocols and regulations.
  • Accurately document patient care services into the electronic medical record.
  • Follow through with physician orders by performing necessary lab work/testing procedures and providing follow-up on test orders/reports/results.
  • Assist clinic staff/physicians with answering phones, screening patient charts prior to appointments, and preparing patients for examinations/procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients and their caregivers to ensure prescribed medications are administered safely at home.
  • Under the supervision of the attending physician, provide case management for patients, including obtaining referrals and authorizations, coordinating infusion/transfusion schedules, renewing medications, and ordering labs.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing (RN) program.
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
  • Active CA State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified.
  • HIPAA training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Hematology patients.
  • Experience working with peripheral and central line IV access.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
