Position Overview

The Community School of Naples is actively looking for skilled individuals to fill the role of School Transportation Operator for on-demand driving tasks. All operators will report directly to the Facilities Manager.

Compensation ranges from $19 to $22 per hour, contingent upon the specific assignment and individual qualifications. A valid CDL with P and S endorsements, along with Air Brakes certification, is mandatory for all candidates. While prior experience with school buses is preferred, candidates with experience driving passenger buses will also be considered, provided they hold a current school bus endorsement.

While the Community School of Naples does not offer assistance in obtaining the necessary licenses, we will cover the costs associated with medical certification, background checks, fingerprinting, and drug testing.

On-demand drivers are essential for managing peak scheduling periods or when regular drivers are unavailable. During athletic seasons, demand can significantly increase, resulting in potential calls for work ranging from half days to full weeks. However, there is no assurance of consistent hours, and part-time benefits are applicable.

All candidates must undergo fingerprinting, criminal record evaluations, driving record assessments, and a DOT pre-employment physical, in addition to pre-employment and random drug screenings.
