Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive psychiatric care, addressing mental health conditions and ensuring quality health services are delivered to patients. This role involves working closely with the healthcare team to tailor care based on individual patient needs, utilizing established social and behavioral health protocols.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prescribe appropriate medications for both acute and chronic mental health disorders, along with physical and occupational therapy treatments, adhering to the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding health behaviors, self-care strategies, and treatment alternatives, while effectively communicating with the healthcare team regarding care plans.
  • Engage with community resources to gather relevant patient information and support care transitions.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to performance improvement efforts as necessary.
  • Facilitate educational programs for nursing staff and assist in the training of students and new employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Required:
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, along with two years of professional nursing experience. Current BLS/BCLS certification from the American Heart Association is also required.

Preferred:
Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure in Georgia and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.


Skills and Competencies

Strong diagnostic skills, ability to identify and address deviations from standard health norms, and proficiency in developing and implementing nursing care plans. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with proficiency in relevant software applications.


Work Schedule and Compensation

Shift: Days, Monday through Friday
Salary Range: $95,200 - $121,400 annually, commensurate with qualifications.
