About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Services Librarian to join our team at the Town of Eaton. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs and services for children, teens, and families. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on our community and contribute to the growth and development of our library.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs and services for children, teens, and families, including storytimes, book clubs, and other activities.
  • Provide reference and readers' advisory services to patrons of all ages.
  • Liaise with community partners to develop and deliver programs and services that meet the needs of our community.
  • Oversee the collection development of youth materials, including purchasing, cataloging, evaluating, and weeding.
  • Connect patrons to community resources and provide information and referrals as needed.
  • Work a busy public service desk, creating library cards, handling money, and performing circulation duties.
  • Provide customer service, technology assistance, and reader's advisory to patrons of all ages.
  • Promote library programs and services through social media, flyers, and other marketing materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
  • One year of progressively responsible library experience or experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, including children, teens, and families.
