Wellness Nurse

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Wellness Nurse - Medication Care Manager to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and services to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration
- Administer medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Review and document medication administration records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse to ensure seamless medication management.
- Assist with medication passes, observing and documenting resident responses.
- Restock medication carts and maintain a clean and organized medication room.
- Resident Care
- Provide individualized care to residents, addressing their unique needs and preferences.
- Conduct Service and Health Updates, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and Individualized Care Plans (ICPs).
- Transcribe orders and maintain accurate records.
- Risk Management and General Safety
- Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promoting a safe and healthy environment.
- Practice safety procedures, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, and Lockout Tagout procedures.
- Report accidents, incidents, and hazardous conditions immediately.
- Ensure cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are kept out of the way, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes.
- Training and Contributing to Team Success
- Participate in regular training sessions, staying up-to-date on the latest care practices and protocols.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the overall engagement and satisfaction of residents, guests, and team members.
- LPN, LVN, or state/province specific licensed nurse credential.
- Maintain certifications, including CPR and First Aid.
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
- Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents.
- Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain a high level of organization.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
