Job Summary

The Treatment Advocate will play a vital role in supporting the recovery journey of our patients. This position requires a compassionate and empathetic individual who can provide a safe and non-judgmental space for patients to share their experiences and work towards their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming new patients and assisting with their orientation to our programming schedule and rules.
  • Conducting patient belongings searches when new patients are admitted.
  • Completing safety rounds and security checks to ensure a secure environment.
  • Participating in the coordination of patient daily schedules, including treatment meetings, behavior interventions, and general observation of behavior and level of participation.
  • Providing support and encouragement to patients, as well as supporting their participation in group, individual, and family counseling services.
  • Supporting clinical and nursing services as assigned.
  • Participating in weekly treatment team meetings and program staff meetings.
  • Ensuring that all necessary documentation meets contract, licensure, accreditation, and standards for services in a timely manner, following AAC's documentation policy guidelines.
  • Communicating efficiently with other departments to ensure the best care for patients.
  • Providing supportive services to our outpatient and inpatient adult population.
  • Identifying situations that may be potentially harmful to patients and reporting any patient or safety concerns to the Clinical Manager and/or CEO.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences (social sciences, human services, counseling, or psychology) is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral healthcare field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record software and documentation is preferred.
  • The ability to read, write, and interpret written information, type documentation, present information to groups, and participate in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • The ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
Physical Requirements

Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine. Distance vision required to drive an automobile, if driving is a requirement of the job.

Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise levels as found in a business office with computer printers, households with TVs and dishwashers, and driving light traffic.
