Brazer - Copper Piping Specialist

Smardt, a leading manufacturer of oil-free centrifugal Chillers, is seeking skilled Brazers to join our team at our Plattsburgh Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities- Join copper piping by brazing to ensure high-quality connections.
- Conduct leak checks on refrigerant circuits, including pressure and evacuation tests, to ensure system integrity.
- Transfer refrigerant safely and efficiently.
- Perform general mechanical assembly work, including assembly and disassembly of equipment.
- Perform other general tasks as required.
- Previous brazing experience, preferably in a refrigeration or HVAC setting.
- Refrigerant handling license and Journeyman refrigeration mechanic license.
- RBQ brazing certificate.
- Post-secondary education or related experience.
- Ability to braze copper joints with an open flame torch.
- Understanding of evacuation and refrigerant transfer equipment and industry best practices.
- Attention to detail and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Good reasoning skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 pounds.
- $18.00/hour salary.
- Yearly refund of $100 on safety boots.
- Premium for 2nd shift.
