Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining machinery designed to perform a specific portion of the production process around EPS and PolyISO. This includes maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and boiler systems throughout the facility, executing capital projects, and performing various high-level maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reassemble machines after repair or maintenance work.
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect problems.
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair.
  • Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specific procedures.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications.
  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.
  • Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
  • Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in order to maintain machinery and work areas.
  • Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
  • Adjust, install, fabricate, and make modifications of equipment to maintain or improve safety and quality of operational conditions or equipment efficiency.
  • Comply and participate in regulatory, Carlisle, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).
  • Troubleshoot control systems, servo drives, motors, HMI's, and PlCs.
  • Calibrate controls instrumentation.
  • Maintain and enhance electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Provide training to Maintenance technicians I II as needed.
  • Articulate to vendors/engineer's machine issue to resolve technical issues.
  • Handle and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, three to five years of related maintenance experience, and a mechanical background with rotating equipment. Previous experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler is preferred. The candidate should also have knowledge of measuring gauges, hand and power tools, and prior experience operating a forklift. Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information, effective communication and problem-solving skills, and basic math, reading, and writing skills are required. Boiler operator certification or ability to obtain certification is also preferred.
