About the Role

As a Membership Sales and Retention Specialist at the YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our members, guests, and program participants. This includes promoting memberships and programs, maintaining a clean and organized lobby area, and conducting interviews and tours for prospective members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure member satisfaction and retention.
  • Sell, renew, and follow up on membership sales as directed by the Membership Director or Coordinator.
  • Conduct tours and interviews to promote memberships and programs.
  • Maintain a positive and energetic attitude towards YMCA work, goals, and values.
Requirements
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Previous customer service, sales, or related experience preferred but not required.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Requires a person of maturity and good judgment who can operate with minimum guidance.
Working Environment

The physical demands of this role include walking, standing, kneeling, and stooping. You must be able to lift, pull, and move up to 50 pounds and stand or sit for long periods. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel applications is also required.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 based on location and experience. The YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge offers a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
