Primary Care Physician

San Jose State University's Student Wellness Center is seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary medical care services to students, including diagnosis, treatment, and counseling. You will work closely with our Director of Health Services and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of care for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Examine patients, diagnose illnesses and injuries, and develop treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory results, electrocardiograms, and x-rays
- Counsel and educate patients on related medical/personal problems and health measures
- Perform office procedures, including wound care, suturing, and cryotherapy
- Provide follow-up care to ensure the appropriate resolution of illness or injury
- Cooperate with staff meetings, committees, and in-service training
- Graduation from a medical school and completion of one or more residency programs and/or fellowships
- Valid license to practice medicine in the State of California
- Current board certification in an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) specialty or subspecialty
- Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration and number for prescribing controlled substances
- At least one year of clinical experience in a college health setting or similar environments
- At least one year of demonstrated proficiency in suturing and/or performing minor surgeries
- At least one year of clinical experience including mental health/behavioral care competence
Classification: Physician - Primary Care
Anticipated Hiring Range: $16,667/month - $19,700/month
CSU Salary Range: $13,406/month - $22,768/month
San Jose State University offers employees a comprehensive benefits package typically worth 30-35% of your base salary.
