The Senior Java Engineer will take charge of the architecture, development, and upkeep of both client-facing and internal applications. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-performance, low-latency applications for essential systems, ensuring robustness and reliability.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including conception, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Create clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance of designs and code with security and regulatory standards.
  • Continuously explore new technologies and architectural methodologies for improvement.
  • Mentor junior developers and assist in leading development teams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to establish project objectives, maintain code quality, and share technical expertise.
  • Engage in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to enhance coding standards.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and work standards.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional tasks as required that may extend beyond the typical scope of this role.
  • Maintain the ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years of experience in Java development with a solid understanding of the Java ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in software development.
  • Expertise in designing and developing applications using Java SE and EE platforms.
  • Proficient in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) with common design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and DB2.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with General Ledger/Accounts Payable (GL/AP) systems.
  • Experience with I-series systems.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
  • Understanding of Non-SQL databases.
