Job Title: Bilingual MAT Assessor

Job Summary: The Bilingual MAT Assessor will play a crucial role in performing thorough evaluations and delivering therapeutic support to families whose children are involved in child welfare cases. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in addressing the needs of children with mental health challenges and will be equipped to provide immediate crisis intervention when necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (MAT) evaluations for designated family cases
  • Engage in MAT/Child and Family Team (CFT) discussions with pertinent agencies
  • Deliver mental health therapeutic and rehabilitative services to families throughout the assessment phase
  • Provide targeted case management and connect clients with essential community resources
  • Collaborate with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and other organizations to ensure cohesive service delivery
  • Offer crisis intervention assistance to families in distress
  • Maintain accurate records of all services rendered
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered with the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners
  • A minimum of two years' experience working with children facing mental health issues

Special Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to connect with individuals experiencing severe mental health challenges
  • Familiarity with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health services
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills for electronic health record management
  • Valid California Driver's license and access to a vehicle with insurance

Duties:

  • Oversee MAT Comprehensive Assessments for assigned families
  • Provide therapeutic interventions during the assessment period
  • Facilitate case management services and connect clients with community resources
  • Collaborate effectively with DCFS and other agencies
  • Act as a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) for assigned clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed
  • Deliver crisis intervention services as required
  • Maintain ongoing communication with family members and support networks

Other:

  • Encourage client participation in service planning
  • Meet daily service billing standards
  • Prepare for meetings and supervision sessions
  • Participate in the agency's utilization review process
