Job Title: Loan Officer Originator

Job Summary:

The Loan Officer Originator is responsible for originating mortgage loans, HELOCs, and consumer applications. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Originate loans by engaging with customers and real estate professionals, and by conducting sales efforts at the customer's home or place of business.
  2. Respond to customer inquiries regarding loan products and applications.
  3. Stay up-to-date on government regulations and the bank's policies and procedures regarding lending.
  4. Make underwriting decisions on loans within lending authority, and refer exceptions to senior management.
  5. Manage service providers and vendors effectively, and develop strategic relationships with them.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in mortgage lending is required.
  2. Experience with lending laws, regulations, and guidelines is required.
  3. Experience in customer service is required.
  4. Experience in financial services or banking is preferred.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office or similar software is required.
Education and Experience:
  1. High School Diploma is required.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications is preferred.
  3. Certification: NMLS is required.
  4. Years of experience: 3 to 5 years as a Loan Officer is required.
Physical Environment:
  • The employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
