Job Summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a seasoned in-house attorney to lead the legal team for its Strategic Space Systems division. As a key member of the company's legal department, you will provide counsel on complex matters related to government contracts, commercial transactions, and internal investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and counsel on matters associated with the pursuit, capture, and execution of US Government and commercial contracts.
  • Coordinate with various legal specialists to support litigation, internal investigations, intellectual property, export, employment, and other matters impacting the business.
  • Supervise one or more supporting counsel, paralegals, or administrative assistants.
Requirements
  • JD from an accredited US law school.
  • Member of the state bar in the applicable location, capable of being licensed through testing or comity, or, in lieu of licensure, capable of practicing as an in-house counsel in accordance with applicable state bar rules.
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience at one or more law firms, US Government agencies, and/or in-house legal departments.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with contracting and subcontracting in support of US Government programs and/or with complex commercial transactions.
  • Excellence in analyzing legal concepts and ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to provide accurate, timely, and pragmatic advice.
  • Ability to promote and contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages and supports inclusion to drive innovation and reach the best solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment.
  • Proven success leading teams and driving for results in a matrixed organization.
  • Active US security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
