About the Role:

Doeren Mayhew, a $150 million certified public accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a hands-on Manager or Senior Manager to lead the tax consulting practice of the Transaction Advisory Services Group. This individual will primarily focus on the tax aspects of buy/sell transactions, assisting clients with deal structure and due diligence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive tax analysis and due diligence, focusing on federal, state, and local income tax, sales and use tax, employment tax, and personal property tax.
  • Advise clients on tax implications related to deal structures, financing, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Analyze and advise clients on tax implications of various deal structures and understand how they affect the overall tax position of the transaction.
  • Advise clients on effective tax strategies.
  • Ensure clients are in compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements through the transaction process.
  • Lead client meetings and target site visits while interacting with top-level management to obtain pertinent information for complex tax concepts and strategies.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas of the practice, including financial due diligence, tax, audit, and other consulting professionals, to develop a comprehensive tax strategy that aligns with the client's broader business objectives.
  • Partner with internal team members and referral sources to identify new marketplace opportunities and develop new business.
  • Develop and mentor team members to assist them in their career development and reaching their career goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required.
  • Masters in Taxation preferred.
  • CPA License required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, 3 years of Transaction Advisory experience required.
  • Possess a high degree of knowledge of US federal, state income, and international tax disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience leading and managing teams, projects, and multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
