- Sign-on Bonus: $15,000 for eligible candidates
Become a part of Laredo Medical Center's dedicated Step Down Unit, which features 20 private rooms designed for specialized care of patients with complex medical and surgical needs.
Each RN is accountable to the unit's Director, while benefiting from on-shift leadership provided by Charge RNs and Clinical Coordinators.
Additional support is available during each shift through Patient Care Technicians or Nurse Aides. Sign-on bonuses are offered to qualified candidates. Virtual Interviewing Processes (VIP) are accessible for applicants located outside the area.Key Responsibilities:
Assess assigned patients and develop, implement, and document nursing care plans. Assist physicians during examinations and procedures. Conduct various patient tests and administer medications within the registered nurse's scope of practice.
Encourage patient independence by setting care goals and educating patients and their families about conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
Utilize experience and judgment to plan and achieve objectives. Perform a variety of tasks and report to a manager or head of the unit/department.Minimum educational requirements include an associate's degree, and candidates must be certified as a registered nurse from an accredited nursing program.
Candidates must hold a valid nursing license in the State of Texas and be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field.Applicant Requirements:
Must possess an associate's degree and be certified as a registered nurse. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the nursing field is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
- Required: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Registered Nurse Examiners.
- Required: BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Required: ACLS, PALS, or NRP certifications, obtainable within six months of hire at no cost.
- Required: Handle with Care certification (or obtain within six months of employment) in the required specialty.
- Preferred: One (1) year of full-time or three (3) years of part-time experience in an acute care setting.
- Preferred: Letters of Recommendation are preferred for applicants with less than one year of relevant nursing experience.
- Must successfully complete any pre-employment assessments required by the facility.
