About the Role

NewFields is seeking a highly skilled Civil Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Missoula, Montana. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting large and small engineering design projects, performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and preparing accurate and professional technical reports and presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support large and small engineering design projects, including mine facilities, agricultural irrigation, stormwater facilities, flood studies, environmental remediation, and environmental assessments.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support project-related tasks.
  • Prepare accurate and professional technical reports and presentations.
  • Develop organized calculations to support engineering analyses and designs.
  • Prepare engineering plans using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Prepare engineering specifications.
  • Work independently and as part of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians.
  • Develop and manage water resources field investigations.
  • Coordinate with other technical specialists, including environmental engineers, geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, geochemists, and other disciplines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or water resources engineering.
  • Minimum of an Engineer Intern (EI) certification and actively working to become a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • PE certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of progressively increasing engineering experience, preferably with fieldwork, surveying, data analysis, design, technical reporting, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS is preferred.
What We Offer

NewFields offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000, based on experience. We also provide competitive benefits to full-time employees in this role.
