Ecolab is in search of a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer whose primary responsibility is to oversee production workflows,

engage in technical troubleshooting, conduct root cause investigations, and manage the introduction of new products. This role provides essential technical support to manufacturing operations and offers recommendations to various departments to ensure the quality of all final products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees modifications to production processes and products, ensuring safety and minimizing risks to operational efficiency and product integrity. This includes managing elements such as Management of Change (MOC), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), along with compliance to ISO and RC14001 standards.
  • Facilitates the launch of new products and processes, ensuring safety, product quality, and operational efficiency. Completes all necessary eSPRINT steps and SAP configurations promptly, collaborating with Production Engineering to ensure all relevant Process Safety Management (PSM) activities and ISO/RC14001 requirements are met.
  • Guides Production and Quality Assurance teams in resolving in-process issues and formulates appropriate corrective actions to effectively address these challenges.
  • Evaluates all non-conforming materials and assesses their potential for rework. Develops and documents rework strategies for qualifying off-spec materials, monitoring their effectiveness and making adjustments as needed.
  • Analyzes in-process and final batch data, adjusting processes and specifications to maintain compliance with established standards.
  • Provides training or support to process engineers in educating production staff on new processes and procedural updates.
  • Leads investigations into incidents as necessary.

Identifies root causes of issues and develops, where applicable, corrective actions to prevent recurrence in the following areas:

  • Initial Pass Failures
  • Non-Conforming Batches
  • Customer Feedback
  • Acts as the primary author, reviewer, and updater of all manufacturing protocols within the area of responsibility, consulting with Process Engineering as required.
  • Collaborates with R&D and Production/Process Engineering to identify and implement process enhancements that yield time and cost savings, or enhance process robustness.
  • Assists the Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor in establishing new analytical testing methods and resolving issues with existing methodologies. Also aids in training lab analysts on new testing procedures.
  • Actively engages in and supports the plant's safety initiatives and processes.
  • Supports all external certification efforts of the plant (ISO, NSF, Kosher, RC14001, Halal, etc.).
  • Participates in and, when necessary, leads teams focused on plant efficiency, improvement, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborates with engineering, quality, and production teams to achieve statistical process control and capability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical processing and manufacturing.
