Position Summary:

The Composite Engineering Specialist, under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, plays a crucial role in the design and evaluation of components, tools, and assemblies tailored to fulfill client specifications.


Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop composite and metallic components and assemblies that align with client specifications.
Design the production processes and tooling necessary for the fabrication of components and assemblies to meet client needs.
Generate and assess CAD models and drawings to establish design criteria.
Implement principles of Advanced Product Quality Planning and Lean 6-Sigma to create optimal, manufacturable product designs.
Assist in initial fabrication and transition to manufacturing.
Facilitate product qualification, which may involve analysis, in-house testing, or contracted testing facilities.
Develop, execute, and post-process Finite Element Method (FEM) models utilizing Abaqus software. Models may encompass linear, non-linear, static, or dynamic analyses.
Contribute to Preliminary Design Review and Critical Design Review presentations and related documentation.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field is required. The preferred candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
1-3 years of relevant engineering experience is desirable.
Exceptional analytical and technical skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and in a manufacturing context.
Capability to convert analytical and theoretical concepts into practical, hands-on solutions.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, bills of materials, and associated documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with GD&T as per ASME Y14.5 standards.
Experience with FEM methodologies and software, particularly Abaqus, is advantageous.
Proficiency in CAD software, with SolidWorks being preferred.
