Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at the City of Redmond, OR. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our wastewater treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and control treatment processes to optimize water quality and minimize environmental impact.
  • Collect and analyze water samples to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and repairing equipment, and performing minor repairs.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations or a related field.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and laboratory equipment.
  • Certification in wastewater treatment operations or a related field.
