Job Title: Wax Assembler

Join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. as a Wax Assembler, where you will play a critical role in producing high-quality assemblies for the aerospace industry.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Wax Assembler to join our team in Redmond, Oregon. As a Wax Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling wax patterns and gating components using a variety of waxes and tools. You will also be responsible for inspecting assemblies during and after the assembly process for defects, documenting assembly completion forms and time sheets, and maintaining quality and productivity levels/standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Clean wax patterns to quality standards using various waxes and tools.
  2. Read and follow assembly work instructions which describe assembly steps of a simple to complex nature.
  3. Assemble wax patterns and gating components using a variety of waxes and tools.
  4. Inspect assemblies during and after the assembly process for defects.
  5. Document assembly completion forms and time sheets.
  6. Maintain quality and productivity levels/standards.
  7. Perform general cleaning of assembly area equipment and tools.
  8. Cross-inspect assemblies documenting defects and providing feedback to other assemblers.
  9. Process engineering changes to assemblies.
  10. Aide in the training of techniques and procedures to other assemblers as needed.
  11. Work from photos and notes when new instructions have not been created.
  12. Take photos or coordinate to have photos taken when needed.
  13. Adhere to plant and department safety rules. Safely operate all equipment and tools. Identify and report safety issues.
Requirements:
  1. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  2. Ability to learn and follow safety policies and procedures.
  3. Ability to work with hands and possess good eye-hand coordination skills.
  4. Ability to work with delicate objects.
  5. Must have patience for fine detail work.
  6. Must have good organizational skills.
  7. Ability to see fine detail (.010 size defects) using inspection lights and mirrors.
  8. Must be able to use a ruler or scale with accuracy (measurements must be within 1/16).
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in wax preferred; however, on-the-job training is provided.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to read instructions and write legibly. Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing up to thirty-five pounds, with assistance if needed. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to use hand-held tools. Ability to work in working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
