Job Summary

This position is located at a Child Development Center and is responsible for supervising children and youth during daily activities and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise children and youth during daily activities and special events
  • Plan and coordinate activities for program participants based on observed needs
  • Prepare and implement program options for children and youth with special requirements
  • Instruct team members in specific tasks and job techniques
  • Ensure assigned area maintains standards for certification and accreditation
Requirements
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Meet one of the following qualifications:
    • Possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
    • Have two years of specialized experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus an associate's degree or 60 semester hours with a major course of study
    • Have a bachelor's degree or 120 semester hours with a major course of study
    • Have 24 months of experience working in a group childcare or youth program, with completion of DoD-approved competency training courses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience assisting with childcare or youth program national accreditation processes
  • Experience participating in multi-disciplinary or higher-level child/youth program inspections
  • Experience working with varying age groups
  • Experience leading or mentoring lower-level childcare/youth program staff
