The Role:

We are currently in search of a Site Operations Supervisor for our landfill operations.

In this role, you will oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of our equipment operators, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will also receive training and mentorship in the waste management sector, preparing you for future leadership roles within our expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage site personnel needs, including recruitment, coaching, discipline, and performance evaluations.
  • Schedule staff and equipment to optimize daily landfill operations.
  • Operate various heavy machinery as required.
  • Assist in monitoring budgets and operational metrics, identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Implement safety and environmental compliance measures in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in regular P&L reviews to ensure budget adherence; develop programs for optimal resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with state and local agencies to ensure effective operational and environmental compliance.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints.
  • Develop both short-term and long-term operational goals and action plans.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in landfill operations, heavy construction, or environmental services is preferred.
  • Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience in a dynamic, people-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple priorities effectively.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel and related business systems.
