Job Overview

Position: Service Technician

Summary:

The role involves repairing, customizing, and maintaining motorcycles owned by both customers and dealers, ensuring adherence to scheduled timelines while delivering exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive work assignments from the Service Advisor or Manager.
  • Proactively request necessary parts for assignments as soon as requirements are identified.
  • Execute service, repair, and customization tasks in line with factory specifications.
  • Inform the Service Advisor or Manager about any additional work required or potential delays promptly to keep customers informed.
  • Ensure that the customer’s vehicle is cleaner upon return than when it was received.
  • Complete and file all paperwork accurately after job completion.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and assist colleagues in keeping the shop organized.
  • Support the Service Writer as needed with work orders, customer communication, test rides, or any other tasks that enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Stay technically qualified by completing any required training programs assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned or requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Completion of factory-authorized training programs such as MMI Service School or equivalent experience.
  • Possession of appropriate tools for the job.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and foster good relationships with colleagues.
  • Capability to push and load motorcycles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with motorcycle endorsement.
  • A genuine passion for the motorcycling lifestyle and community.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High energy level is essential.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficient in meeting deadlines consistently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Use of both hands is necessary.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling tools, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to balance and maneuver an 800+ lb motorcycle.

Work Environment:

  • Typically loud noise levels in the work area.
  • Potential exposure to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning agents, and other hazardous materials commonly found in vehicle service departments.
  • Occasional exposure to exhaust fumes and airborne particles.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical components.
