Vivant Talent is seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our Corporate Accounting team, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations and will be cross-trained in various team functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting tasks related to joint ventures, including monthly and quarterly distributions, contributions, and income allocations.
- Track equity accounts for joint ventures and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to prepare transactional journal entries for acquisitions and dispositions, and assist in the coordination and review of purchase price allocations.
- Assist with shareholders' equity preparation, including stock-based compensation understanding.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for equity method investments and non-controlling interest (NCI) accounts, as well as calculate EIE and NCI.
- Partner with corporate accounting to prepare monthly and quarterly consolidating journal entries.
- Support internal and external audit requests for quarterly reviews and the annual audit process.
- Prepare and review disclosures for 10Q/K filings and other quarterly reporting schedules.
- Prepare and review joint venture financial statements to meet quarterly and annual reporting requirements, including managing annual stand-alone audits.
- Assist in preparing the consolidated statement of cash flows and supporting related schedules.
- Conduct technical research and present findings as needed.
- Complete special projects assigned by the leadership team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, with a focus on Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 or other national CPA firm.
- CPA designation or active progress toward CPA certification is required.
- Strong understanding of complex corporate structures and consolidation processes.
- Expertise in using spreadsheet programs, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Yardi experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make informed business recommendations.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
