The Patient Transfer Specialist is responsible for coordinating all processes, support, communication, and documentation involved in the transfer of patients between facilities, as well as facilitating physician consultations. This role also requires adherence to all regulatory standards while keeping key stakeholders informed of timelines. Accurate data entry into the EPIC database is essential, along with coordination with Flight for Life for patient transport.



Qualifications:
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace daily, qualified candidates will need the following:

- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- One to two years of direct clinical experience in Emergency Department/Critical Care (such as Critical Care Tech, EMT-B, etc.), or full-time direct administrative healthcare experience (such as Nursing Unit Secretary or Patient Access Representative), or Transfer Center experience
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) must be successfully completed within 18 months of employment. Certification must be obtained while employed.

Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work - prolonged periods of sitting and exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
