Position Summary:
Aquagenix/DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a dedicated Licensed Aquatic Pesticide Technician to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your skills and expertise to enhance the beauty of the environment while upholding our company’s values and principles. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, strong mathematical abilities, and a keen attention to detail. Responsibilities include installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining various aquatic systems, including lakes, ponds, and fountains, as well as managing aquatic vegetation control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a fundamental understanding of various weed, grass, and brush types.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of chemicals utilized, their control mechanisms, and all associated safety protocols.
  • Execute treatments for algae, submerged and floating weeds, shoreline weeds, and other unwanted vegetation to maintain aquatic areas.
  • Manage the treatment and control of invasive plants in commercial and industrial sites.
  • Perform additional tasks such as cattail removal, water quality testing, fish stocking, and maintenance of fountains and aerators.
  • Conduct equipment and vehicle inspections, ensuring the functionality of spray systems.
  • Calibrate all spray equipment accurately.
  • Assist with daily routing, scheduling, and tank mixing operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and care of all vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with strict safety guidelines in all operations.

Technical Skills:
Understanding of chemical applications, methods, and equipment (e.g., boats, trucks) is essential. The ability to communicate effectively with homeowners and other clients is crucial, as is an understanding of outdoor working conditions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • A commercial pesticide applicator's license for aquatic vegetation management is required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in aquatic vegetation management is necessary.
  • Ability to swim and comfort in water environments is essential.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
