About the Position

The Legal and Compliance Counsel will develop and implement our overall legal and compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and risk management standards. This role involves recommending policies and procedures, drafting contracts, assessing insurance needs, and mitigating legal risks associated with strategic initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Monitor and resolve compliance issues, analyzing data to inform recommendations to senior management.">
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other documents.">
  • Serve as a point of contact for staff on general legal matters.">
  • Identify and address Risk Management Program issues.">
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, including NCUA, CFPB, and NC Credit Union Administration.">
  • Assess compliance implications of policy changes and updates.">
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory developments and recommend operational impacts and implementation plans.">

Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, you must have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice law in North Carolina, and possess 4-6 years of related experience. Americas Credit Unions Certified Compliance Officer designation is also desired.

Salary Information

">

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
