Job Title: Childcare Coordinator

Genesis Women's Shelter & Support is seeking a compassionate and experienced Childcare Coordinator to provide nurturing care to children in our residential and non-residential settings. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed care to children of all ages
  • Assess and meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of children
  • Plan and facilitate activities that promote social-emotional development, age-appropriate play, and engaging educational experiences
  • Communicate effectively with mothers about their children's behavior and progress
  • Maintain a clean and organized childcare environment
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the Supervisor and DFPS as specified in the Texas Family Code
  • Assist with volunteer coordination and special events
  • Participate in supervision and training to maintain accurate knowledge in childcare, child development, domestic violence, and trauma-informed services

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a daycare or childcare setting
  • Knowledge of domestic violence is preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle is preferred
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred; certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to lift children (up to 35 pounds), move furniture, and sustain long hours of active work
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
