Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Analytical R&D Scientist II to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for developing and validating analytical methods for pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Method Development and Validation: Develop and validate analytical methods for pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, LC/MS, dissolution, spectroscopy, and compendial testing.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Recognize and report out-of-specification or unexpected results, contributing to problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Document Control: Write deviations, OOS, CAPA, Change Controls, SOP, and specification documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Project Management: Develop validation, verification, and transfer protocols and implement them.
  • Instrument Calibration and Maintenance: Conduct instrument calibrations/verifications as required.
  • Result Analysis and Reporting: Record and report analysis results, interpret data, and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Process Improvement: Research and assist with the implementation of new methods and processes to enhance operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to meet project objectives and client expectations.
  • Talent Development: Contribute to talent acceleration by training and mentoring Junior Scientists.
  • Compliance and Safety: Maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related physical/biological science field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of method development/validation experience (or 2+ years experience with a Master's degree).
  • Technical Skills: Strong experience with HPLC. Experience with EMPOWER preferred.
