Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part-Time School Nurse to join our team at Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a climate of health and well-being in our school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide health care services to students, including dispensing medication and maintaining accurate health records.
  • Develop and implement school health programs in collaboration with administration.
  • Counsel students on good health habits and instruct classes on skills related to health, first aid, and emergencies.
  • Participate in medical examinations and identify and meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of students.
  • Continuously develop professional skills to remain current in the field.
Requirements
  • Arizona School Nurse Certification
  • Experience working with children and/or school health programs
  • Current CPR certification
  • Good physical condition
  • Initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient communication skills with children and adults
  • Positive attitude in crisis situations and ability to work cooperatively with others
Preferred Qualifications
  • Practicing Catholic
  • Knowledge and understanding of positive disciplinary techniques and child psychology
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this position require standing, sitting, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds. The employee must be able to stand for periods of time outside in the heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Terms of Employment

This is a 12-month, full-time, salaried position with a schedule of mandatory days and extra responsibilities provided prior to the start of the new school year.
