Parks and Recreation Management Job Description

This Recreation Services Manager position plays a crucial role in leading the development and implementation of outdoor recreation programs and historic preservation initiatives for the City of Durham. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in budget management and staff supervision. They will also be responsible for fostering partnerships with local community organizations and promoting collaboration among City departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of outdoor recreation programs and events.
  • Develop and manage assigned budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of full-time staff members, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Maintain effective relationships with local community groups, vendors, and City departments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, leisure services, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in recreation programming and/or facility management.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.

Compensation Package:
- Salary: $84,428 - $130,874 annually
