Twin Cities Jesuit High School is in search of a passionate and committed educator to facilitate Physics instruction, along with one section of introductory high school mathematics. Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Duties

  • Develop comprehensive, standards-aligned annual, unit, and lesson plans that promote student achievement in accordance with the Cristo Rey Network's benchmarks.
  • Create and administer assessments aligned with course standards, analyze student performance, and adjust instructional strategies based on assessment outcomes.
  • Deliver engaging, high-impact lessons that accelerate student learning and cater to individual needs.
  • Provide focused one-on-one and small-group tutoring during designated office hours.
  • Foster a deep understanding of each student as an individual, embodying the principle of cura personalis (care for the whole person).
  • Establish and maintain school-wide practices and norms for student behavior, including positive behavior interventions and support.
  • Cultivate a classroom environment that promotes effective learning.
  • Engage in reflective practice through regular coaching sessions based on the Danielson Framework for Teaching.

Professional Engagement:

  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate actively with colleagues in various contexts to enhance the professional community.
  • Contribute to the broader Twin Cities Jesuit High School community beyond classroom responsibilities.
  • Work alongside the entire school community to advance our mission as a college preparatory institution.
  • Exemplify values consistent with Catholic, Jesuit education and service to others.
  • Engage in Ignatian Identity cohort meetings to deepen understanding of Jesuit values and spirituality.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Principal.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to our mission, intellectual curiosity, openness to growth, and a positive outlook. Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree with expertise in Physics or a related field.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of effective practices in science education.
  • Ability to design and implement curricula that serve a diverse student population.
  • Commitment to the mission of Twin Cities Jesuit High School.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Completion of necessary training and background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching license in the relevant subject area.
  • Master's Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Proficiency in a non-English language, particularly Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese.
  • Prior successful experience teaching at the high school level.
  • Experience supporting students with significant academic needs.
  • Experience working with English language learners.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
