Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Duties

  • Develop comprehensive, standards-based annual, unit, and lesson plans that promote student achievement in alignment with the network's benchmarks.
  • Create and administer assessments that align with course standards, analyze student performance, and tailor instructional strategies based on assessment outcomes.
  • Deliver engaging, high-impact lessons that accelerate student learning and cater to individual needs.
  • Provide targeted tutoring to students during designated office hours.
  • Foster a deep understanding of each student as an individual, embodying the principle of cura personalis (care for the whole person).
  • Establish and maintain school-wide practices and norms for student behavior, including positive behavior interventions and support.
  • Cultivate a classroom environment that enhances student learning.
  • Engage in reflective practice through regular coaching sessions based on the Danielson Framework for Teaching.

Professional Engagement

  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in various contexts to enhance the professional community.
  • Contribute to the broader school community beyond classroom responsibilities.
  • Partner with the entire school community to advance the mission of a college preparatory institution.
  • Exemplify values consistent with Catholic, Jesuit education and service to others.
  • Engage in cohort meetings focused on Jesuit mission and identity to deepen understanding of Jesuit values and spirituality.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Principal.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to the mission, intellectual curiosity, openness to growth, and enthusiasm that are essential to our staff's character. Additionally, they will meet or exceed the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major, minor, or equivalent expertise in the primary teaching discipline, such as Physics.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of effective practices in science education.
  • Ability to design and implement curricula that serve a diverse student population.
  • Commitment to the mission of Twin Cities Jesuit High.
  • Willingness to work on-site.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Completion of required training and background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching license in the primary discipline.
  • Master's Degree in Education or relevant content area.
  • Proficiency in a non-English language, particularly Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese.
  • Prior successful experience in high school teaching.
  • Experience working with students requiring significant academic support.
  • Experience with English language learners.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
