Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement standards-based, data-driven lesson plans that promote student achievement in core assessments.
  • Create and administer assessments aligned with course standards, analyze student performance, and tailor instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Deliver engaging, high-impact lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and accelerate student growth.
  • Provide individualized tutoring and support during designated office hours.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages student learning and upholds positive behavior practices.
  • Engage in reflective teaching practices through regular coaching sessions.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to our mission, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative spirit. Required qualifications include:

  • A bachelor's degree in Physics or a related field.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of effective science teaching practices.
  • Experience in designing curricula for a diverse student population.
  • Commitment to the mission of Twin Cities Jesuit High.
  • Ability to work on-site.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Completion of necessary training and background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching license in the relevant subject area.
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese.
  • Prior experience teaching high school students.
  • Experience supporting students with significant academic needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
