Job OverviewKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement innovative processes and protocols to enhance the management and growth of the IT hybrid infrastructure.
  • Conduct thorough research, analysis, and application of software updates or hardware modifications necessary for addressing security or server-related vulnerabilities.
  • Assess and trial new products, services, and internal tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Take the lead in configuring and maintaining essential servers and services critical to operations.
  • Continuously monitor existing systems to guarantee uninterrupted availability of IT services.
  • Offer guidance, mentorship, and technical support to IT administrators and support specialists.
  • Ensure comprehensive maintenance and upgrades of all IT services, including antivirus solutions, backups, imaging, and patch management.
  • Facilitate organizational and technical advancements and additions to the services catalog.
  • Oversee the development and execution of new projects, standards, and tools, including automated scripts and solutions, to improve team efficiency, performance, and security.
  • Manage the on-premises Active Directory environment, including maintenance, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), file server permissions, backup, and recovery processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and input to management while leading cloud architecture evaluations.
  • Direct the planning and execution of new IT infrastructure capabilities.
  • Ensure all systems are designed and implemented in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory standards (security, resilience, scalability, efficiency, etc.).
  • Collaborate across departments to grasp evolving business needs and communicate IT initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Formulate insights on emerging infrastructure application technologies (e.g., Elastic, Solar Winds, VMWare Vsphere, VEEAM, WSUS, Azure AD, M365, Intune, etc.) and assess their relevance to business goals and operational requirements.
  • Analyze market successes and failures to refine the firm's IT strategy.
  • Design and implement new infrastructure products and operational standards throughout the technology organization.
  • Draft and document proposed technical/infrastructure designs for integrating and implementing new solutions, collaborating across the IT department.
  • Support vendor relationships in all relevant technologies to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Recommend process enhancements to peers and leadership.
  • Conduct architectural assessments and impartial analyses of critical project decisions, considering impacts on systems, timelines, and other essential variables.
  • Support communication strategies that guide the organization towards standardized technologies or establish new standards as development needs arise.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in designing, integrating, and managing complex IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Expertise in architecture/design and implementation of workloads in cloud and hybrid cloud environments (resilience, compliance, security).
  • Experience with Microsoft Server platforms and technologies, including Windows Server, VMware ESXi, vSphere, Exchange Server, SQL Server, IIS Web Server, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Storage technologies.
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere 6.0 and later versions.
  • In-depth knowledge of the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack.
  • Experience with backup applications (Veeam, Barracuda, Commvault, etc.).
  • Comprehensive understanding of enterprise system monitoring tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of system administration tools including Intune, Tanium, SCCM, WSUS.
  • Extensive knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms.
  • Experience with multiple cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including experience with intrusion detection, firewalls, antivirus software, and vulnerability management.
