Job Summary

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Controller with the preparation of the annual budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
  • Prepare forecasts in support of program directors to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Develop and maintain reports for management and regulatory agencies to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Prepare and update Excel budget worksheets for various programs to ensure accurate financial tracking.
  • Input final budgets by project codes into the Blackbaud general ledger system and reconcile any differences to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze and document monthly budget to actual expense variances by project to identify areas for improvement.
  • Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances to ensure financial integrity.
  • Perform various internal audits as directed by the CFO to ensure transactions are being adhered to per Finance Policies and Procedures.
  • Review and analyze complex financial accounting work processes, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient workflow and conformity with accounting principles.
  • Analyze and review proposals for any system related to financial accounting methods, policies, and procedures to recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff to gather input and feedback concerning system needs to ensure effective financial management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in public or non-profit accounting and budget preparation and analysis.
  • Proficient at high level using Excel to ensure accurate financial analysis.
  • Previously demonstrated financial analysis skills and acumen to ensure effective financial management.
