Job Summary

This role will be responsible for performing advanced level work, including medication reconciliation and medication histories, verification of orders, and support of medication acquisition programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced level work, including medication reconciliation and medication histories, verification of orders, and support of medication acquisition programs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe patient transitions during admitting, transfer, and discharge medication acquisition process.
  • Assist with the collection of data for productivity and quality assessment, and may perform Tech-Check-Tech as outlined by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) and HM policy.
  • Participate in staff development by training new employees, residents, and interns; provides feedback on technician's performance.
  • Lead the coordination of the day-to-day workflow and activities of assigned pharmacy technicians.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two years of college preferred.
  • Four years of Pharmacy Technician experience applicable to the specific work setting.
  • Cross trained in three pharmacy work areas, or serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for a pharmacy work area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • LPHT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech - State Registration.
  • RPI - Reg Pharmacy Intern - State Licensure.
  • IV Certification - Intravenous certification (ACPE) - if applicable for primary work assignment within 90 days.
