Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Retina Consultants of Texas. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the needs of our patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain patient history, including chief complaint, history of present illness, and patient and family history of ocular and general illnesses.
- Perform and document visual acuity, confrontational visual fields, evaluation of motility, pupillary function tests, dilation, and ocular tonometry.
- Provide compassionate patient care throughout the clinic flow, including inventory management, prepping drugs, and maintaining sterile instruments.
- Support the clinical needs of our Northwest clinic and surrounding clinics, including travel to various locations as needed.
- Collaborate with our clinical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in ophthalmology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel to various clinics and locations as needed.
