Casting Technician

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Casting Technician to join our team in a large manufacturing facility. As a Casting Technician, you will be responsible for forming cast and maintaining the quality of the product.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain casting furnaces to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
- Coordinate job numbers with correct alloy, weight, and temperature to meet production requirements.
- Transport ingots of alloy to work units using a hoist and load them into the chamber box/charge box.
- Handle molds from the pre-heat furnace to the casting furnace, ensuring accurate settings and pouring speed.
- Monitor gauges to ensure correct settings, accurate pour speed, and appropriate crucible size for melting processes.
- Determine accurate pump down time to prescribed vacuum levels.
- Replace crucibles and pack them using grog according to best practices.
- Record temperature at the unit and signal team operators to remove the mold from the preheat.
- Clean and remove all metal from splash guards, crucible blocks, and the furnace.
- Basic understanding of industrial and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed yet uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Aerotek offers a climate-controlled industrial environment with a large manufacturing facility and 500 employees. The position requires working in a hot area due to machines.
Additional Information- Minimum Education requirement: high school diploma.
- This position can be entry-level, and we are open to a variety of experience and skill sets.
