We are seeking a highly skilled Oral and Maxillofacial Physician to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases, defects, and injuries occurring in the soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region - face, head, jaws, and neck.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform biopsies to determine whether tumors or growths are cancerous.
  • Administer local, regional, or general anesthetics to patients before surgeries.
  • Surgically remove tumors and abnormal growths of the oral and maxillofacial areas.
  • Adjust patients' jaws to provide increased functionality, comfort, and symmetry.
  • Remove impacted wisdom teeth and buried dental roots.
  • Perform reconstructive surgery to treat congenital defects, structural abnormalities, and injuries.
  • Prepare patients' mouths for dental implants.
  • Collaborate with various healthcare specialists to create suitable treatment plans for patients.
  • Inform patients of their diagnoses and discuss appropriate treatment options with them.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate Degree Required
  • Licenses: MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
    • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
    • Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
    • Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
    • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
    • Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
    • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Computer skills required.
