Key Responsibilities- Apply fetal ultrasound principles in the evaluation of fetal anomalies
- Apply gynecological ultrasound principles in the evaluation of patients
- Adapt to various ultrasound machines while maintaining high standards of sonography
- Identify fetal anomalies, such as CNS, maxillofacial, cardiothoracic, abdomen, abdomen wall, genitourinary, extremity placental, umbilical cord growth disturbance
- Perform ultrasounds on maternal uterus, cervix, and ovaries
- Perform complicated twin and triplet scans in conjunction with in-office multiple gestation service
- Identify gynecological anomalies such as fibroids, thickened endometrium, and polyps
- Maintain ultrasound logging records, including past medical history, past surgical history, past obstetric history, and past genetic history
- Prepare patients for procedures, including Level I & II ultrasounds, amniocentesis, lung maturity amniocentesis, PUBS, amino reduction, external cephalic version, and GYN ultrasound
- Maintain professional relationships with other staff members, other obstetric offices, and hospital personnel
- Exercise independent judgment when interpreting Biophysical Profiles designed to assess fetal well-being
- Alert physicians of potentially dangerous conditions
- Diagnose fetal weight disturbances based on fetal biometry
- Diagnose multiple fetal anomalies and report and demonstrate them to physicians
- Associates degree in Ultrasound required
- Bachelors degree preferred
- RDMS required
- RDMS OB/GYN preferred
