Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and establish a budget for the facility's Operations & Maintenance and Capital projects.
  • Facilitate coordination between field personnel and contractors to ensure timely project completion within budget.
  • Conduct assigned visual inspections of substations and other properties related to customer assets.
  • Perform maintenance tasks and various duties as directed by management or supervisors.
  • Act as a safety operator as needed to supervise and assist subcontractors.
  • Coordinate repairs with various service contractors as assigned.
  • Solicit quotes for services such as snow removal, rock delivery, roofing estimates, painting, HVAC maintenance, etc., as needed.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient work environment for employees and contractors, adhering strictly to all customer and employer practices and procedures.
  • Comply with all applicable safety regulations.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively in team settings.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Availability during off-duty hours is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel across all regions within the company’s operational footprint.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and make informed decisions.
  • Capable of interpreting drawings, schematics, operating instructions, and manuals related to transmission equipment.
  • Familiarity with basic construction principles.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental protocols.
  • Able to access all customer-related substations, rights-of-way, and facilities.
Education & Experience:
  • A certificate of Accreditation from an accredited College or University, or equivalent experience in the building trades is preferred but not mandatory.
Pre-Screening:
  • Upon offer, candidates may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and/or MVR check.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
Physical Demands:
  • RARE (up to 10%): crawling, climbing poles, gripping, lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): sitting, stooping, body twisting, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs.
  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, manual dexterity, climbing on/off a truck, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reading, reaching, range of motion, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs.

Safety Considerations:

Due to the inherently hazardous nature of the industry and the requirement to work with or around dangerous equipment, employees must possess adequate eyesight to assess distance and coordinate equipment and tools, maintain focus for extended periods, endure various weather conditions while completing tasks, wear personal protective equipment as necessary, enter and exit vehicles multiple times daily, and have the stamina to navigate diverse terrains throughout a standard workday.
